Intro
The MetaTrader 4 app is available for both iOS and Android, so you can access your account on the go when you are away from your screen. With the app, you can manage your account, check live prices, open or close a position, modify your existing trades, and use some analytical tools, too. However, you can’t run your Expert Advisors and Scripts.
Just like on the web platform, you can choose from several languages on the mobile platform. Changing the language is a bit tricky on Android devices, though: you can do it only if you change the default language of your mobile.
Look and feel
The MT4 mobile platform is simple and user-friendly. You will easily find all the features.
We liked the platform's clear design.
Login and security
The use of OTP (One Time Password) provides an additional level of security as the user is required to enter a unique one-time password every time to connect to an account. To start using one-time passwords, you need to bind your trading account with the password generator.
You can't use fingerprint or Face ID authentication, even though these would be highly convenient features.
Search functions
The search functions are good. You can search by typing the name of a product or by navigating the category folders.
Placing orders
You can use the same order types as on the web platform.
Besides instant execution, you can use the following basic pending orders:
- Buy Limit
- Sell Limit
- Buy Stop
- Sell Stop
To have a better understanding of these terms, read our overview of order types.
Alerts and notifications
You can set alerts and notifications on the mobile platform, although only through the desktop platform. Enabling these features on the mobile platform as well would be more convenient for users.
