What is Interactive Brokers's TWS and how to download it?
Trader Workstation (TWS) is the desktop trading platform of Interactive Brokers. TWS is a seperate client from the web-based Client Portal and can be installed on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. TWS is dedicated to advanced traders and is often used for algorithmic trading. On the platform, you can find every feature you can think of, such as delta hedging, among others.
Step-by-step: How to install TWS?
- Head over to the Interactive Brokers website
- In the menu bar, select 'Trading' then 'Platforms'
- Under the 'Trader Workstation' platform, click 'Download Software'
- Select 'TWS Latest' and click 'Download'
- Open the downloaded .exe file
- Navigate through the setup wizard
- At the end of the setup wizard, Select 'Run Trader Workstation' and click 'Finish'
- Log in to your account
