What is scalping?
Scalping is one of many trading strategies. It is a strategy focusing on small price changes for fast profit. Some brokers ban this activity.
The strategy is based on buying and selling almost instantly just under seconds.
If the strategy is successful, and you have finished trading, don't forget to withdraw your funds.
What are IC Markets trading restrictions?
There are no trading restrictions when it comes to trade sizes and scalping. IC Markets provides MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 environments for scalping, and are promoting themselves as the "best trading conditions for scalping and high frequency trading".
Risks of scalping on IC Markets
Scalping is risky, as traders need to keep costs in mind after each opened and closed positions.
Costs are dependent on account type:
- Raw accounts have a $3.5 commission per lot per side, with tight spreads
- Raw accounts on cTrader have the same conditions but at $3.0 per $100,000
- Standard accounts have no commissions but spreads start from 0.6 pips
