I've thoroughly tested Freetrade services with our analyst team by opening a real-money account and these are my most important findings:
- You can only trade using your own funds at Freetrade, margin trading and the use of leverage is not available.
- Margin rates are only applied by brokers that allow margin trading.
- Trading on margin or using leverage means that you borrow funds from your broker to increase your buying power.
- Since margin trading and the use of leverage is not supported by Freetrade, you cannot short sell assets either.
